in Alabama a person is guilty of possession of fentanyl if they:
(1) Possesses a under 1/2 g of fentanyl
OR
(2) they obtain fentanyl by fraud, deceit, misrepresentation altering of a prescription, or providing a false name.
Possession of fentanyl is a class D felony. The range of punishment for a class D felony in Alabama is from one year and one day in prison to five years in prison.
